Superintendent Search Underway
We are actively engaged in a search for a new superintendent and wanted to update you on the process. We are very pleased to have hired former Washington state superintendents Dr. Mike Boring and Dr. Al Cohen from McPherson & Jacobson and the Washington State School Director’s Association. As we move forward we will be providing opportunities for everyone to provide input into the desired qualities and experience for a new superintendent. This information will be vital and will be used to develop the job posting and recruit qualified applicants. Following this thorough search process, we look forward to selecting a new superintendent sometime this spring. It is our expectation that the new superintendent will be able to spend time in our schools gaining information from our Interim Superintendent Karst Brandsma and others prior to taking over leadership on July 1. We look forward to bringing the right educational leader with a shared vision for the Mt. Baker School District community to all of our students. We are excited with the prospect of new leadership in our district and recognize the importance of this critical decision during difficult times in education. As a board we will welcome input during this process from all of our stakeholders. With change comes opportunity, and we are looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for the students, staff and community in our Mt. Baker School District. On Behalf of the Board of Directors,
Trish
Hart
